Privacy Policy for TagZap

Last Updated: April 5, 2025

TagZap is a Chrome extension that filters spam posts on X by hiding content with excessive cashtags, hashtags, external links, or user-defined blocked words. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

What We Collect

TagZap collects only the settings you provide (filter toggles, cashtag/hashtag limits, up to 3 custom blocked words). We do not collect personal or sensitive information (e.g., name, email, browsing history, X account details).

TagZap reads X post content on the active page to apply filters but does not store or transmit this content.

How We Use Your Data

Settings are used solely to filter X posts within your browser. No analytics or tracking is performed.

Data Storage

Settings are stored using chrome.storage.sync, a Chrome-managed service that syncs to your Google account if sync is enabled. We do not store data on our own servers.

Data Sharing

TagZap does not share your data with any third parties.

User Control

You can modify or clear settings via the TagZap popup. Uninstalling TagZap removes all stored data.
